ABOUT ME

I'm a YA science fantasy writer currently seeking representation/publication for my 4-book series THE TALISMANS of TEREGRIN. A lifelong lover of books, I've been a storyteller for as long as I can remember and spent much of my childhood and teen years dabbling with a wide array of book ideas, but I could never quite find "my" story, my niche. My passion, however, led me to a B.A. in English and journalism that, through a crazy turn of events, landed me in Cambodia teaching ESL. I enjoyed the experience so much that I earned my teacher's certification when I returned to the States and taught English/writing courses in Thailand, Colorado, and North Carolina.

In 2017, my husband and I moved to Ohio to be closer to family for the birth of our first son, who is missing 146 genes on his 18th chromosome. With two genetic disorders, seizures, and a heart condition, he faced some incredible challenges, so I left teaching to be his full-time caretaker and began blogging my way through the transition to make sense of our new reality. The blog reawakened my dream of being a writer, however, and my son inspired me to work hard, take the risks, and write characters who cling to hope and never quit.

Along with writing and reading, I enjoy running--both for fun and in competition, from 5Ks up through a half-marathon. I drink way too much coffee, and you can usually find me working on therapies/playing with my two boys and singing along to their favorite Sesame Street songs. My platforms on Twitter and Instagram are used to connect with other writers, keep tabs on my progress, and share the little details in our unusual life that inspire me as a writer.
